Aurora!!! Aurora!! Aurora!!!

AURORDAY 2

I went back again to Airport park at 4.35 am, Sept 28 2011
I tried shutter speed 30, only then I realize The most I can go is 30 second! ISO 400 and 200 ~
I tried as what the pro said - 2 second timer
It was fabulous!
Aurora is like gambling your sleeping time, you might wait whole night and get the general one, the "super aurora" might pop up anytime, maybe right after u leave.
I personally think is very addictive! Just because we don't want to miss anything!

Can u guys spot the big dipper?  - 北斗七星

Shooting Star!! Lucky me! Btw - I saw 2~

Beautiful!!

All these Pictures looks much better compare to the first time!
I'll still definitely need a tripod and if someone gonna buy me a wide angle lens, that will be great!

Happy Aurora! More - to - come!

Aurora!!! Aurora!! Aurora!!!

AURORDAY 2

I went over to Airport park around 9.30 pm and went over Woronzof Point for 5 minutes for the sake of compare for a better place to shoot nice Aurora!
It was quite cloudy but we still can see some light shooting out from the north side! I was a good one too bad it was too cloudy!!!

Brighter! and I definitely need a Tripod!
With some head lights !

There is a strong one right before I leave the park!

I was thinking at 10.20pm if I should Leave or I should Stay?
It was so chilly and cloudy and I decided to go home!!!!
More More More Aurora Pictures to COME!

Denali Salmon Bake

Our Visit to Denali National Park was welcomed by Colorful tree and mountain, journey was so wonderful with a superb comfy train ride.
We got the deal from princess for only 140 usd/ per person including train ride on the upper deck from Anchorage to Denali, One night stay at the Denali Princess Lodge and also one way bus ride from Denali back to Anchorage.

DENALI SALMON BAKE
We have our dinner at the Denali Salmon Bake Restaurant, is one of the famous restaurant in town, the town is including  a 3/4 mile long street (Boardwalk) and a few Hotels, Lodges included.

Very Eye-catchy design  - outlook of the restaurant

interior - not a huge dining area, but country and family style

We order the special King Crab Stuffed in the Salmon Fillet served with fresh Vegetables & some Mashed Potatoes

Coleslaw on the side of the deep fried halibut is really good, lots of fresh vegetables.

Wild Alaskan Razor Clam - the portion is good enough for us to be an entree
Lightly hand breaded Local Razor Clam served with homemade tartar sauce.
It is very very chewy and the tartar sauce is so good you can tell is homemade!

The Bakes famous Halibut and Chips
Fresh Kachemak Bay Alaskan Halibut, hand beer battered and served with house coleslaw, homemade tartar sauce and waffle cut fries.
I'm not a big fans of fried stuff, so this is emmmmm okay for me, but the coleslaw is really good!

We can't really taste the Kingcrab meat by overall is still okay, I would give a 6 over 10.

If you're spending more than a day in Denali, it is worth a try, they're very local and you can definitely get lots of Alaskan Local food.

Winner Creek Trail, Girdwood, Alaska

Winner Creek main attraction - Hand Tram ! I've been so excited about that hand tram since I realized about hand tram.

There is 2 starting point to get to the hand tram:

1- Starting behind the Alyeska tram station will need you to hike 2.5 miles to reach the hand tram. You'll go through 1/2 miles of blueberry bush besides the trail, you'll see bear if you're lucky! You'll come to a few small gorge and a beautiful gorge that you can actually walk down and drink some spring water. It only takes around 5 minutes from the last gorge to the handtram.

Pro - Nice parking place and a place to rest after hike.
Con - Long Hike to Hand Tram and Long Hike back to the resort.

2- Starting from Crow Creek Mine/ trail will only take 1 mile to get you to the Hand Tram and another 5 minutes to the Gorge.

Pro - short hike to the hand tram.
Con - Long drive on a unpaved road.

Either way will get you to the wonderful, unforgettable, Handtram above a river right on a valley!!!
